Episode 28: 6 enriching friendships in the art world
In today's episode, I'm talking about 6 different relationships in the art world. Some of these friendships are from the past and some are modern-day examples of friends or rivals pushing or supporting each other to create the best work they can.
Vocabulary
rolled on - used to indicate time moving on
selling out - when you lose your integrity or sense of self
to push someone to do something - to encourage them to do something
pave the way for someone - to prepare the way for someone so their path is easier
Follow in someone’s footsteps - to do the same things that another person has done before
take someone under their wing - you start to protect and take care of them
Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer - be nice to your enemies and stay alert so they don't have a negative impact on your life.
Keep a close eye on someone - you observe them carefully to make sure they are progressing as you want them to
Keep up to date with something - to keep informed about something
miss out on something - to miss an opportunity
bring someone or something to light - to point out issues or show something important
